What is Co-Washing?

A co-wash is when you wash your hair only using conditioner. The conditioner is used in this wash to provide your hair with moisture and shine, and also help hydrate the hair. Most people will say the conditioner is the most important part of the washing process.

What are the cuticles and why is it so important for the cuticles to be in tact?

Cuticles are the outer most part of the hair shaft. They are strong and transparent cells that overlap each other up to 12 layers deep. These tiny microscopic structures protect the hair and its inner cell structures from damage. The cuticle is responsible for much of the mechanical strength of the hair fiber. A healthy cuticle is more than just a protective layer, as the cuticle also represents the structure that controls the water content of the fiber. Much of the shine that makes healthy hair so attractive is due to the cuticle. With these in tact, you can treat the hair like its your very own. It can be dyed and chemically processed. We suggest having your hair Professionally serviced to protect your investment.

Can I dye and/or bleach my virgin hair?

Virgin hair can be dyed and/or bleached, however you still have to be careful as you would with your real hair. Extra care will be needed because the hair is not attached to the scalp and does not retain its own moisture. You must be mindful to keep the hair hydrated and moisturized. Also, when you dye and/or bleach your virgin hair the hair is no longer virgin (it will then be chemically processed ). We recommend that you have your Hair professionally dyed and/or bleached.

How long will the hair last?

The hair will last up to a year but can last much longer with proper treatment and care. Constant heat styling, coloring, and improper care will significantly shorten the life span of the hair.

What are closures?

Closures are one of the most revolutionary techniques in Hair weave history. They help you achieve a more natural full head weave. Closures are most commonly attached onto a cornrow base by securing around the perimeter. Closure Top Piece is an essential for a truly undetectable weave. It is designed with a durable lace base to enhance the finished look of your weave. It has a medium density for most natural look; it is free styling so can be parted in different directions. The hair has been double knotted for durability so can be so can be used several times!

What are frontals?

Frontal are incorporated with weft to close a sew-in across the front hairline-hence the name frontals. It helps to achieve the most natural full head weave or can be used to create a more affordable lace wig. Frontals need very experience and creative technician to achieve that close to perfect hairline, otherwise you wind up with too full, overly perfect and so unnatural hairline. Guess what? Our frontals eliminates that!

What is the difference between Indian Hair & Brazilian Hair?

Brazilian Hair has a heavier density than Indian Hair and has a tendency to be somewhat smoother and shinier. Brazilian Hair also tends to withstand humidity with less frizz. Because the South American region is so diverse, some of the curly patterns are more coarse than Indian Hair.

How is the length of the hair measured?

Straight hair is measured in its natural state, but our wavy and curly hair is measured when stretched out. When ordering wavy hair, you may consider ordering 2 inches longer to accommodate your length. When ordering curly hair, you may consider ordering 4-6 inches longer to accommodate your desired length.

How do I make my closure look more natural?

To achieve a more natural scalp that will complement your skin color, we recommend using a very thin stretchable fabric (wig cap for instance) lighter but closer to your skin tone. This will actually give you a more natural looking scalp and will blend easier to your skin tone.

Can I straighten or curl my wavy hair?

The answer is YES you can. Some of the deep curly or wavy patterns may be challenging to straighten because the curl pattern is so deep and it will take a long time. It is very important that you use a quality heat protectant on your hair. Your hair is 100% pure human hair so it can become heat damaged just as your own hair would. Also, with curly/wavy hair you risk the chance that your curl pattern will not return after applying excessive heat to your hair repeatedly just as your natural hair would respond. If you continually apply heat to your hair, you will begin to train your hair to be straight.  Our suggestion is; if you want curly hair, then wear your Virgin hair curly. If you prefer to wear your hair straight or wavy, then the wavy textures will be best for you since they offer the most versatility.

How much hair do I need to create an entire style?

This answer will vary based on your individual preferences. Most people will be able to use 2 bundles as long a you dont pass the 16 & 18" combination. If you like your hair very full, or longer than 18", you will want at least 3 bundles. 4 bundles or more will be a very, very, full style.

Will the hair look exactly like the photos?

The photos that we provide are shown to give an idea of what your Princess Hair will look like. The hair has not been chemically altered or colored so the hair color will vary from natural off black to light brown with variations in between. Although they will be similar, each bundle will be unique in regard to its wave/curl pattern and texture.

What makes Miss Hair Royale company better than other companies and beauty supply stores?

Most, if not all, human hair sold through beauty supply stores is non-cuticle hair; meaning the hair is not Remy hair. A lot of hair brands coming found in beauty supply stores are claiming to be Remy hair, but this is usually not true. The cuticle has been stripped with an acid bath and sometimes even mixed with animal hair, synthetic fibers or fabric. Often, this hair is coated in silicone which can lose its sheen after several washes. Finally, when hair is not cuticle-correct, users suffer from extensive matting, tangles and shedding and the hair is not reusable.

HAIR CARE TIPS
  • YOUR HAIR NEEDS TO BE COWASHED A MINIMUM OF 2-3 TIMES PER WEEK. (1-2 times for straight/ very loose wave hair)

  • You need to keep your hair moisturized. If you do not it will cause drying, tangling, matting and shedding. Oil is not moisture, but it can be used to seal in moisture during deep conditions. Providing moisture is accomplished by using a moisturizing conditioner.

  • It can take approximately 2-3 weeks to find a regimen that will work work well with your bundles. We can not tell you specifically what to use on your hair. Each bundle comes from a different person we do not know.

  • Shampoo should be used very sparingly since it is known to strip hair of its moisture. Since it is not attached to a scalp there are not oils being deposited consistently. Conditioner can remove sweat and some product build up.

  • Keratin (protein) is intended for straight textures and should not be used for curly textures.

  • You will need to find a new product to use on your hair if: once the hair is no longer wet it starts to tangle and matte together or throughout the day your hair becomes dry and turns into a "puff ball"

  • Continuing to use a product that does this to your hair will result in your hair becoming severally dry and may not be perishable

  • Not all products will work well for all hair types/textures. Each bundle comes from a different hair donor which means no two bundles are exactly the same. Take a look at the website under hair care tips for a list of great products to use on the hair. You are not limited to those products you just need to find one that works well for your bundles

  • If you plan to swim with your hair, for protection, braid your hair and put a small amount of conditioner over the hair. Shampoo and Deep condition the hair after you are finished swimming.
